Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes which included an Oscar for her movie Piano. The path to acting began with Broadway with a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. In her early years, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth grade production. Mumps made her lose hearing in one of her ear canals, but that was not enough to stop the actress from following her dreams. While in college, she took classes in theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter was stuck in the lift of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. Following her move to Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure a supporting role on Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, she has appeared on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
