Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for her work, including an Oscar. Early on, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. Passionate about acting since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. She became deaf in one ear after suffering from Mumps, but she didn't allow this handicap to hinder her determination to become an actor. She studied drama at college after which she moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart which marked Hunter's Broadway debut. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began looking for roles in films. She landed one in the role of an actress playing the leading character Swing Shift. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
